Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared

Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared, is a comedy horror musical web series created by Becky Sloan and Joesph Pelling. The series consists of six episode released from 29 July 2011 to 16 June 2016. Each episode begins as you would expect a standard children tv show would, each episode having a theme to learn about and understand, however, by the end the episodes have become disturbing and unsettling. The six themes we explore in each episode in order are creativity, time, love, technology, diet and dreams and the three characters that explore these themes are often referred to as, Red guy (due to his completely red exterior and red mop like hair), Duck (as he is an anthropomorphic duck) and Yellow guy(due to his yellow skin, despite his humanoid appearance). They themselves never come to realise that things will end badly by the end or each episode and throughout the series remain semi-willing to explore each challenge sent their way. In the creativity video, what begins as simple arts and crafts becomes dark as soon instead of discussing colours and drawings they take a more practical approach, covering human hearts with glitter, and letter stamping the word death. In the diet episode, they begin learning about the food pyramid, yet ends with Yellow guy being forced to consume his companion who has been canned, Duck. They also explore cults, death, the brainwashing of the internet and Yellow guy, during the dream episode, drowns in a vat of oil that had replaced the bed he was previously sleeping in. The true mystery of this web series has never been confirmed to be solved, though a fan theory many speculate is that this entire opperation is a ploy to torture the Yellow guy by his father, as Yellow guy endures the most punishment and every episode begins on June 19th, which in 2016, is Fathers Day.
